What does it cost to own and maintain a small Aircraft.??
Is it for you??
When considering an aircraft purchase, consider all the cost and do the math, you might be way ahead of the game renting.
1st theres the cost of the aircraft itself, along with prebuy inspection, that is recommended before you purchase any aircraft.
Secondly theres the cost of insurance which is based on the amount of time ( hours in Type) you and whoever elses will be flying the plane has. This cost will vary greatly, Do your homework..
Then theres the Hanger fee’s, you dont want your new toy sitting in the weather, do you…? The cost of a hanger will vary from airport to airport, so shop around your area and find the best deal.
Keep in mind if you plan on flying the plane, you will need and it is greatly recommended you buy GAS…This cost will also vary, pending on where you buy it. again do your homework in preflight and lets not forget that every year there’s an annual due that could cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, pending on what needs to be done and replaced.
SO count the cost, before you sign the line, will you use the plane enough to cover the cost? or are you ahead of the cost game by renting the plane and walking away from the costs and cares of ownership.
Lease back to a flight school is always an option to help cover cost, but remember your first landing, need I say more………
